An artist sits down at their desk to work. Where do they get the material for their creation? From their own body, which gradually disintegrates as the work takes shape. Exploring the laying bare of the creative process very literally, Fragments playfully uses the genre of body horror in traditional animation.

Men with pixelated faces rushing through run-down neighborhoods, apartment buildings towering over them, an empty swing in winter. This fast paced, aggressive montage encapsulates the feelings of anger and frustration of a generation faced with an uncertain future. The experimental montage was shot all across Europe, but the unifying grey filter and a harsh breakbeat soundtrack tie it all together.
Text: Vincent Rabas-Kolominsky
Henrik Vahter (*2003) is a filmmaker and musician from Tallinn, Estonia, who has already published multiple short films, songs and photographs.
